Overview

Get to know the whole world in just one Japan trip

This tour offers a taste of everything Japan, and the whole wide world: from the neon-lit bustling city of Tokyo, through the temple-dotted geisha districts of Kyoto, and finally, the highlight of 2025: Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.

Immerse in the high-tech megapolis of Tokyo and its diverse contemporary culture, devour the freshest sushi at Tsukiji Fish Market, shop in the chic boutiques of Ginza and Omotesando, and play with your senses in the world’s most visited museum, teamLab. Then, time-travel via the shinkansen to the thousand-year capital of Japan, Kyoto, and jump into a cultural exploration: sip ceremonial-grade matcha with a geisha, find your inner peace meditating in a zen rock garden, and walk the historical stairs of the Eastern Hill wearing a traditional kimono attire.

During your trip, you'll have the flexibility to discover the magnificent wonders of Nikko, its abundant nature, and the artistic world-heritage temples nestled in its forests on an excursion. You will also experience travelling by the world’s fastest bullet train, the shinkansen, and may even find yourself feeding the wild deer amongst ancient temples and shrines in Nara’s charming parks.

After getting a taste of everything Japan, as the final stop of your trip, you will join the most important event of the year: EXPO 2025. Explore the countless colourful pavilions created and curated by each country, the newest technological innovations from all over the world, and their local cultures and cuisines.

By the end of this trip, you'll be surprised by how you just got to know the whole world, in one Japan trip.

Day 2

Yokoso - welcome to Tokyo. This sprawling metropolis blends with harmony ancient traditions with cutting-edge innovations. From centuries-old temples and serene Japanese gardens to contemporary architecture, design, and vibrant fashion and subcultures, Tokyo promises to captivate and delight.

Our hotels are strategically placed near public transport, ensuring you can easily explore the city's myriad attractions. In the vicinity, you'll find an array of local bars, authentic Japanese eateries, cafes, and shopping havens.

Day 3
Dive into Tokyo's multifaceted charm. Given its vastness, we suggest focusing on a few key areas. Explore around by hopping on Tokyo’s efficient public transport, which makes it easy to navigate between neighbourhoods.

Must-see spots include the Imperial Palace in the green heart of the city, the historic Sensoji Temple with its five-story pagoda in Asakusa, and the gigantic skyscraper of 634 metres, Tokyo Skytree. Don't miss the bustling Tsukiji Fish Market and the upscale fashion district, Ginza. For lunch, indulge in a hearty bowl of ramen or sample some fresh sushi near the Tsukiji Fish Market. Each of these locales offers a unique glimpse into Tokyo's diverse culture and history.

On Day 5 of your trip, transport to Kyoto, Japan's former capital, which is a treasure trove of cultural and historical wonders, boasting over 1,600 temples and 400 Shinto shrines.

Begin with visiting the western marvels of Kyoto. Ryoan-ji Temple's iconic zen rock garden and the stunning Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji) dropped in the middle of an immaculate pond, offer soothing sights and sounds. Explore Arashiyama's Tenryu-ji Temple and its neighbour, the enchanting Sagano Bamboo Forest via a traditional rickshaw ride.

On your return to the city centre, visit the majestic Nijo Castle, the former shogun's residence, now a proud UNESCO listing. Kyoto's efficient public transport (the Kyoto City Bus) and bike-friendly streets make sightseeing a breeze.

Day 6
Spend your second day in Kyoto uncovering its eastern treasures, from ancient temples and zen gardens to scenic city views and vibrant traditional neighbourhoods.

Visit the cousin of the Golden Pavilion, Ginkaku-ji, the Silver Pavilion with its awe-inspiring zen garden. Then, stroll along the Philosopher's Path, a trail along a small stream dotted with small cafes and temples, leading to the Nanzen-ji Temple. Afterwards, ascend to Kiyomizu-dera Temple via the lively Sannen-zaka Stairs for jaw-dropping panoramic views of Kyoto, and explore the Sanju-sangendo Hall with its 1,001 Buddha statues.

Further south, the Fushimi Inari Shrine, the grand Shinto shrine dedicated to the deity of rice, Inari, awaits with its iconic red torii gates. Hike up the hill through the never-ending row of vermillion-coloured gates, symbolizing a transition from the mundane to the sacred. As the sunshine peeks through between the gates, you will find yourself refreshed in Kyoto’s lush forests.

Or take the train to Uji, a delightful green village just south of Kyoto, famous for its premium quality green tea. A must-see is the picturesque Byodoin temple, which is represented on the 10-yen coin. In the countless tea houses around Byodoin, there are many opportunities to try the local green tea during a Japanese tea ceremony.

For history enthusiasts, a trip to Nara offers a walkable exploration of Japan's first capital with highlights like the Kasuga Taisha Shrine and Todai-ji Temple. Stroll around the old streets of Nara and be sure to stop by a local sake distillery for a tasting session or witness the mochi pounding at the world-famous Nakatanidou.
