About me
Irasshaimase! Since a very young age, Japan always had a special place in my heart – I consumed every book and TV show about it! My first trip happened at 16 when I had the opportunity to go on a school exchange – from my small German village, right into the heart of the metropolis of Tokyo.
Japan has a very special place in my heart – I just cannot get enough of its beauty at any season of the year! My last trip was in the wintertime, which was a whole different experience: The snow transformed everything: the farmhouses of Shirakawago Village were covered under a 2-metre-thick blanket, while Kanazawa’s famous Kenrokuen Garden was transformed into a real-life painting, with snow gently covering shrines and branches. And one of my favourite treats in Japan – a relaxing dip in a steaming onsen (hot spring) – is even more rewarding when it is snowing outside!
My love for Asia accompanied me throughout my life – I not only turned my passion into my career, but also into my lifestyle. For 15 years I have been working in the tourism industry, and love what I do. I spent around 2 years in Asia, which continues to fuel my enthusiasm for creating tailor-made bespoke itineraries for our customers.
At Japanspecialist I am based in our Amsterdam office, where I take care of our international enquiries. I am excited to hear from you, to create your perfect Japan itinerary, and to share my love for this amazing country with you!
