As I moved to Japan the world was marching into the lockdown, but Japan was just opening up to me: I had the chance to visit numerous sites in the country, that only the locals know. Bars, sightseeing spots, hanami places, clubs even historic sites: I was showed and taught about the real beauty of Japan. Due to my work in a kimono shop, I could immerse myself into this cultural heritage of the country and had the chance to understand more of its art.

About me

Puffy pancakes for breakfast, strolling under cherry trees in Gion, enjoying hojicha at Kitano Tenmagu, a quick sushi for lunch and then meeting friends, going to Manekineko for karaoke and enjoying several izakaya along the way with some highball, freshly made ramen in the next morning…

As I was living in Japan this was my usual itinerary for the weekends. Even though the world was closing down in 2020, for me the eccentric face of Japan just had started to really show itself. The amount of kindness, help and lessons I gained from my friends, colleagues and even random local people meant a lot to me and influenced my way of thinking and living even for today. Through my work, I want to give all these kindness and care I received from Japan to my customers. Let it by an adventurous tour in Kyushu, a historical walk-through Kyoto or a fun night out at Tokyo, I am happy to provide all the essential knowledge for your trip to Japan but even more, I would to tell about the unwritten rules of the land of the rising Sun.

During my time in Japan, I worked for a kimono company in the heart Kyoto. Due to this extraordinary experience (and extraordinary colleagues) I was taught about the importance and heritage of this beautiful clothing and so, of its culture. On top of all, comes what drives most people’s attention to Japan: its cuisine. No, unfortunately I do not know how to make sushi. But I can tell the top 3 shops in the country where Japanese people are willing to que for 3 hours, only for one really good bowl of ramen or give a glimpse about the less well known but even more delicious local dishes. Please request an online consultation in case, if you would like to know what hides under the always polite and traditional surface of Japan.
