About me
After obtaining a license as interpreter in Japanese language and a master's degree in tourism economics and management, I became part of the wonderful JTB "family" (of which Japanspecialist is part) since 2005.
My love for Japan began when I was a teenager, when, with a fascinated gaze, I observed the strange and incredible world that appeared in manga and anime!
When I set foot in Japan for the first time (way back in 1999), I couldn't believe that what I had seen was exactly reality! For me, Japan is a truly magical place where you can get lost in the alleys of Golden Gai or Omoide Yokocho for a cup of Ramen, and then find yourself in the labyrinth of the bright and noisy skyscrapers of Tokyo’s Shinjuku or Shibuya districts. You can stroll through the streets of Kyoto full of historical Temples and Shrines, and end the day in a traditional Izakaya near Pontocho. Or simply taste one of the many typical dishes of Japanese street food (perhaps purchased in one of the countless Konbinis (convenience stores) that you cross paths with along the way!
If you are lucky, you’ll have the opportunity to also have me as your Tour Leader for your next trip to Japan, as I have been tour guiding for Japanspecialist in the recent past. I will contribute to transform a simple trip into an intimate and true experience not only as a support to make your visit more pleasant, but also to bring you closer to such a fascinating and wonderful culture as the Japanese one.
