I have worked, studied and lived in Japan, which has given me a close personal connection to the country and its culture. I have been working as a tour guide for nearly 30 years, and it is a great pleasure to introduce Hungarian travellers to both Japan’s celebrated sights and its lesser-known treasures.
About me
I have worked, studied and lived in Japan, and over the years I have grown deeply fond of the country. With a background in engineering, one of my first major professional roles was at a Japanese car manufacturer, where I gained first-hand insight into the Japanese work ethic and acquired invaluable experience.
I was deeply moved by Japanese culture and by the way people strive to live in harmony with one another and with nature. As it happened, I spent nearly 30 years working as a tour guide in Hungary, introducing my home country to many thousands of Japanese tourists, businesspeople and teachers. Through them, I came to understand Japan more deeply, and it now gives me immense pleasure to be the guide who helps Hungarian travellers discover, understand and fall in love with this remarkable country.
My aim is for our guests to experience and take home with them the intangible, unseen aspects of Japanese culture as well – such as the way Japanese people relate to nature, the changing seasons, food and their traditions.
I try to approach every tour in the spirit of ichigo ichie, a philosophy I learnt from the Japanese: every encounter and every moment is unique and can never be repeated. I keep this in mind whenever I am travelling through Japan with our guests.
Outside work, I enjoy gardening and am a proud father.
